1UP the WAIT
Life is full of waiting. Waiting for errands, waiting for your ride to show up, waiting for your food… If you're reading this you probably have some downtime right now. Americans lose a collective 37 billion hours a year waiting for something in line. Instead of scrolling aimlessly on your phone or zoning out, make the most of your time by playing Nintendo Switch. It provides a more exciting & rewarding way to 1UP the Wait.

Transport takeover
We’ll take over New York City’s transit system with a Nintendo makeover to promote Switch device usage during this time of waiting. Subway entrances will be transformed into Super Mario’s green warp pipe system, along with other Switch-ified transit elements
Mario will take over the PA system to provide special announcements to communiters.
Digital Wallets
Thanks to the Switch device’s RIFD technology, players never have to stop gaming when going through turnstiles. We’ll utilize this tap system to create a home for all your MTA passes and other transit tickets, instead of pausing to look for your cards.
Themed Transit Boards
Need to know when the next subway comes? Take a look at the Switch themed ticker boards. These will Bluetooth connect to your Switch game library to provide wait times in terms of what you're currently playing.
Reward Your Patience
Switch players will get exclusive in-game benefits based on the locations they bring their devices to. For example, taking your Switch device to the DMV will give you new parts for your Mario Kart vehicle. Different locations will offer unique, in-game items, so there’s always a reason to keep your device in hand.
Travel on your own time
We’ll partner with Expedia to offer a Switch app, providing special in-game perks & items when synced to your travel information. Players will also get additional rewards if there's a delay or change in plans. Increased downtime turns into decreased lap times with a few extra Mario Kart boost mushrooms.
Switch up your screen time (SOCIAL)
For most of us, social media is the primary method of passing time, but for those with a Switch device it's a distraction. There is nothing rewarding about doom scrolling. When you've been scrolling on social for too long, your Switch will send a Bluetooth notification to your phone, prompting Nintendo themed posts to show up in your feed. These will parody common trends with video game characters until the final post prompts you to get back to playing.
Watch the Clock
The same goes for your smartwatch. Once you’ve been sitting too long, your Switch device will send a Bluetooth notification to remind you of who’s waiting for you to join in on the fun.
Celebrate the Wait
We’ll throw the ultimate countdown party for those spending their precious time waiting for hyped-up events, releases for clothing, events, and even new Nintendo game releases. Switch devices will be passed out to those waiting countless hours in line to start the party before it even begins.
Instead of twiddling your thumbs out of boredom, use them to spend your downtime in a more rewarding way. Every waiting moment is the perfect opportunity to play your Switch.
